If you've ever considered that you might be interested in growing plants hydroponically I have great news for you.
This site was developed primarily for people like you.
Here you will find all the information you need to get started in this hobby (or business if you want) and I will show you how to do it and what is needed to succeed.
You'll find out how to decide which system to use, how to prepare the plants from seeds or seedlings, what to use for fertilizer (nutrients), how to provide nutrients to the plants, and how to ensure growing productively.
I also have some instructional courses for more details, and some great books, articles, and graphics you can get that will help you on your journey.
Did you know that hydroponic methods have been used for so long that no one can even be sure when they were first invented?
The Aztecs grew plants on small islands of dirt and grass that they would then float on the top of water ponds in their campgrounds starting about 1000 AD. But, The first known instance of water-based hydroponics was in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. These gardens thrived from an elaborate watering system that supplied a steady stream of river water rich in oxygen and minerals. Located on the East bank of the Euphrates River near present day Baghdad, the gardens were built by King Nebuchadnezzar II (604-562 BC) to please his wife Amyitis.
Hydroponics allow you to grow plants without soil. The greatest use of hydroponics today is for food products, but it can also be used for flowers, and just about anything that grows, including trees!
We'll concentrate on food products here, and I'll let you know later which foods are ideal, and which other foods are good but may need a little help from you to make it.
